These materials will help improve a student's ability to write, focus, calm and engage fully in therapy and in the classroom environment. Students will have access to materials to self-regulate, like with use of lap pads and noise cancelling headphones. Students will improve fine motor skills, overall coordination and pencil grip. Students will use these items daily or on an as need basis. Parents will be informed of progress and of materials used that helped in the process. Occupational therapist will also have an opportunity to work with classroom teachers to use items within the classroom setting and to monitor progress. Students will greatly benefit from the noise cancelling headphones in loud environments like in the lunchroom, or those who are more sensitive to sounds in their classroom environments. All of this will be greatly appreciated!
