My students thrive when they have hands-on opportunities to learn. They love when they can see progress from their work. My fashion design students make items they can use right away, learn about project work, and discover their career interests. We are in need of updated, new sewing machines, so that students can have these opportunities. By providing these machines, you will be allowing students to have real-world experiences. Our current machines are extremely outdated and/or broken. By helping us buy new machines you will help my students be able to experience what it's like to make items out of fabric, just like in the fashion design industry. Through this experience, they also hone their mathematical and spatial skills, as well as their creative and artistic abilities.
