"Awe, Miss...", said Jerome with a sigh and a groan. "Do I really have to read all these pages?" Like most of my students living in our impoverished bilingual neighborhood, they are struggling readers that are reading well below grade level. I teach, teach, teach but if a child does not enjoy reading they may never read outside of the school day. I know that if I provide books and get my students hooked on a series it will plant the seeds to becoming lifelong lovers of reading!!!
