Throughout the day I see small groups for reading intervention. My students range from third through eighth grade. Some of my students are several grade levels behind due to reading disabilities. I would like these reading games to supplement my reading program. I would use these games for individualized reading centers. After a lesson has been taught and practiced, I pull one student at a time to briefly test them on words that relate to the lesson. As a student is testing, I make note of any mistakes and those results drive the instruction for the next lesson. Students enjoy the reading games like fishing for sight-words, at centers while they wait for their testing turn. I would also use the games as extra skill practice with the whole group. I purchased the can-do games for the lower grades and my readers really enjoy them. I hope to get the funding for the next two grade levels that I requested. My struggling readers enjoy the reading games, and yes, it makes reading fun for them.
