My students have trouble with focusing on a task that is longer then five minutes at a time, without a movement break. They are constantly wiggling and seem to do better when they have their movement breaks. Many times their movements during work time cause them to lose focus on what they should be doing academically during independent and small group work. Choices in seating like the Wobble chairs and Jellyfish Jr chairs will enable students to have more movement and be more aware of how their choices can benefit them as a learner. The chairs will help them have movement without actually getting out of their seat and losing focus and time on important academics. Giving students the power of choosing their seat gives them more power in how they can help their own learning. Flexible seating is becoming a need in the modern day classroom. Students no longer learn the same way as students in the 80s or 90s. Students in this era relate to a more friendly, comfortable, aesthetic environment, which these chairs help to accomplish.
