Today, the best way to have your voice heard is through the media. Many schools across the country are providing students with courses that teach them how to create presentations that they can share with the world. Unfortunately, some schools, like ours, do not have the resources to purchase equipment to offer these courses. Mac computers are necessary to run a top-notch media program. If we can get an iMac to share among the 4 different classes, we could be able to create group projects and start a weekly school news program. In addition to the computer, 2 digital cameras would be needed to get this program up and running. With the purchase of an Canon digital cameras and an Apple iMac computer, students will learn how to shoot and edit video and create wonderful presentations. Students will be able to express their opinions and share their voices via a school news program. Not only will this be a great outlet for self-expression, it will also give them an opportunity to pursue careers in the media field. At this time, those opportunities are not available to them simply because of where they live.
