Throughout the year, I have let my students understand the importance of reading. We have had discussions about reading, by doing this they are aware of why they need to read and how they should read. During reading time, my students know that they could move around the classroom, sit on the floor, or stand if necessary to read. I want them to be comfortable when they are reading. I would like to provide my students with an area in the classroom where they could sit or lay down comfortable to read. By donating to our project, you will not only be providing a safe and comfortable area for students to read but you will also be helping them understand what they will be reading, thus helping them increase their academic potential. My students will be reading more since they will have an area to read and thus gaining vocabulary that will help them in other academic subjects. When increasing their knowledge, they will start to do well in different subject areas. When my students see that that they are doing well it will help them increase their self esteem.
