My students, as all students, are often expected to enter a classroom, sit down, and remain quiet for an hour or more at a time. I believe those are unrealistic expectations for anyone, especially students with special needs. This table and these stools would be beneficial for them. Given an opportunity to stand/prop during instruction time and/or assignment, my students would have the opportunity to experience kinesthetic learning and have their sensory needs met with this project. I strongly believe my students' overall learning will increase with this opportunity. Students would then be given the opportunity sit in a desk, at a table, or to prop on a stool at a standing workstation. The table I wish for would be beneficial for them as it would allow them to meet together within groups for collaboration and project-building or to receive small group instruction, as needed.
