All year, we've been working on building our students' understanding of themselves and where they fit into the world. We've done projects that involved discovering who they truly are on the inside. Now, we want to think bigger and help our students understand how who they affects others in the world around them. So, we chose to do a novel study as an entire team! Restart, the book we chose, is about a student who comes out of a coma with amnesia and realizes he may not like who he used to be. We think this will create exciting opportunities for students to analyze their own actions and emotions and how those impact others every day. We hope that by doing this, our students will walk away with a greater sense of empathy and responsibility. We want them to learn to love and appreciate each other for their differences!
