Students will participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) challenge activities to help develop their critical thinking skills and creativity. I have been doing some research on various activities for second graders and found a resource book, which I have included on my list. Activities will include students building bridges to support different weights, designing foil boats to float and carry various items, making parachutes and recording hang-times, building 3-D structures using toothpicks to see which shapes are the strongest, and exploring the human body including the importance of bones to keep our body's structure. It is so important that students have the opportunity for hands-on learning and these activities will achieve just that. Thank you for taking the time to read about this project!

About my class
