The carpet will allow students to share their own writing with other students gaining acceptance with positive feedback and confidence. Students also receive suggestions on how to improve their writing, helping them become stronger writers. At the Kindergarten level whole group instruction is critical for student success. We are building the foundational phonics skills and reading books to our students daily. The carpet allows for students to have a place to gather together and work on the necessary skills together. The headphones provides the students with the opportunity to work on the computer with individualized lessons on skills they need. The headphones can also be used to listen to books on tape/cd. It is critical for kindergarten students to listen to good readers while also working on comprehension skills.
