In my classroom, the ability to utilize online resources is ever growing. My kids can learn from online resources and have thousands of books read to them daily. But, if there are no headphones for personal use, then there's a classroom of chaos. My kids want to be able to read on their level with the comfort of not having their books read aloud. Headphones offer that sense of privacy. One student can be reading about science while the other is solving word problems. Headphones allow for that one-on-one without the distraction of their neighbor. In small groups, whole group and outside learning, headphones offer my students the ability to hear their lessons. I can make intervention videos, I can assign online work, there are endless possibilities with headphones.
