I am the music teacher in an urban, high poverty school. Each week, I influence 550 kindergarten through fifth grade students by teaching age-appropriate choral and instrumental skills. I also teach a class of special needs students. Most of my students come from single-parent homes and do not have the means for extra music lessons outside of school.
