A new carpet for the classroom would be great! We use the carpet for many whole group reading and writing activities such as read-alouds, reading circles, morning meetings, peer editing and much more. So, the carpet is a very important area of the classroom learning environment. A new carpet would allow my students to do more collaborative, project work in a comfortable environment, as well as cut down on the amount of sneezes and sniffles caused by our dusty old carpet. Our current carpet is old and stained with frayed edges. My students are fifth graders and growing rapidly and can no longer all fit on the carpet comfortably.
