Our English Learners need meaningful opportunities to promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. These Nonfiction Reading Centers will help students listen and talk about what they’ve read and then complete a short writing activity to enrich their understanding. All English Learners will become the author of a nonfiction book after researching a topic of interest. This experience will give students practice writing expository text which requires specific skills to provide information in a way that is educational and purposeful. Students will use the Write-A-Story books as a final project to showcase their advanced writing abilities. We will provide a showcase time for these students to share their writing with an authentic audience.
