At my school my students are very amazing, as a lot of them our facing issues, I as an adult have never had to face. You never know how they will come in each day, or what they went through last night but they are always interested in what we are doing at school that day. Our school is the safe place for them. They love to read and do math, and want to learn more each day, and there is nothing they love more than time I give them to escape into art. They have not had this outlet before as we have not had art at our school. I love to combine are reading, writing and math with art as it is something these students need, and won’t get unless it is at school. At my school we send food home with several students on the weekends to make sure they can eat well, as well as serve breakfast and lunch. As most of our parents struggle financially we have to use our supply money for basic supplies because they are unable to provide them for their child, so art supplies are far on the list.
