The Araboolies of Liberty Street will serve as a text that my students can use to learn allegories. They will be able to identify the symbolism within the story and explain how allegories are used to convey an underlying message regarding political or moral situations. They will be able to compare and contrast this text with Eve Bunting's Terrible Things: An Allegory of the Holocaust. In addition, both texts will allow my students to gain a better understanding of the Holocaust. Finally, my students will be able to use the texts as models for writing their own allegorical stories about the Holocaust.

About my class
