Flexible seating has many benefits for learners. Research shows us that students learn best when they have some control over their environment and need to have the ability to move around. Flexible seating supports this concept in the classroom. Flexible seating provides more of a community in the classroom instead of individual spaces. This will provide more student learning. Learners are also more productive when they are comfortable. Standard tables and student chairs are very hard and difficult to move around. Another benefit is letting students have more opportunities to collaborate in groups. Flexible seating also provides sensory input which is beneficial to students with ADHD and ADD.
