This project is specifically to provide students a safe seat to learn from. The current state of our seating is sad and unsafe. The majority of student chairs are broken or missing pieces. I have worked hard to create a learning environment where students feel safe and comfortable. Unfortunately, the state of our chairs is not reflecting the feeling of the rest of the classroom. Each student also receives a chair pocket with their name and space to organize materials. The pockets are currently stretched to their limit and are not being utilized to their full potential because they do not fit well on their current chair. By giving each student a dependable and comfortable place to sit I can continue to create a strong learning community, founded on a feeling of safety and belonging.
