Distance learning continues to pose challenges for my students and me. My students and I continue to navigate available technology and adjust frequently due to changes in required platforms. I am currently attempting to teach from my school provided laptop. Each day I support reading, math, and social skills to several different groups of students. The majority of my lessons require me to share my screen so students can follow consistent routines and rituals along with their participation in the lesson. I struggle when I share my screen because I am unable to see all of my students. I am unsure if they are participating, responding to prompts, in need of reminders or redirections, or if they simply need support or assistance. Having a second monitor will give me the opportunity to see all of my students at the same time and support them with whatever they need! My current laptop will be used to share my screen for the individual learning lesson. The second monitor will be used to connect and interact with students in real-time. Having access to a second screen is paramount during distance learning for teachers to meet their students at their individual learning levels and create a more cohesive learning experience for all.
