The Chromebook computers and listening center will be used by my Special Education and Reading students in many ways. Not only will it allow our students to work at their learning level on programs, such as Accelerated Math and Whoo's Reading, but it will allow real life examples and concepts to be explored without ever having to leave the classroom. The Sony Portable Full Range Stereo Boombox and headphones will allow us to play books on CD while the student's follow along in the same paper book to increase word recognition, phonics comprehension, and fluency. Having access to needed technology in our resource room will allow lessons to be more efficiently individualized for each student's learning levels and specific needs. Many of our students need concepts presented in more than one modality to learn effectively, which can be bolstered by both the Chromebooks and listening center without interruption of their peers.
