Giving these kids a good book to dive into and become involved in the characters can make all the difference in the world. Many studies show that kids who read are more successful. As their teacher, that is my number one goal. I love the process of sitting with my students as they read to me, each other, or just by themselves. There is nothing more exciting than when they can recite something they have just read. Especially when it has to do with our nations history. Learning about someone or something from the past helps them connect the dots to their future.

About my class
