With the Chromebooks, I will be able to differentiate instruction for each student as he/she works at their own pace on the school-wide Lexia Core5 Language Arts program. While students are working on foundational skills on the Chromebooks I will be able to work with other students in small groups. The most beneficial aspect of Chromebook usage for the teacher is getting immediate scoring and results to better differentiate student learning and facilitate small group instruction. Small group instruction is ideal for meeting the needs of twenty-six enthusiastic five year-olds. Small group instruction enables me to meet the needs of all students at their instructional level. Technology is of high interest to students in Transitional Kindergarten. The programs we use help to build the strong foundational skills necessary for success in Kindergarten while also keeping students actively engaged. Students are excited to see their growth as they work on Lexia Core5 and encourage each other to persevere as they attempt challenging work.
