Having a set of hands-on games and activities will change my students' perception of reading, as well as, how they practice the skills learned in this subject. I feel that they deserve an opportunity to fall in love with reading. I believe that if they are exposed to an assortment of games and hands-on activities that offer variety while targeting learning styles, then they will grow both academically and socially. I am charged with ensuring that the foundation that my students are working on is solid. It is my goal to help each student realize their potential. Incorporating hands-on activities and workstations will empower my students to become comfortable with working with others, promote high self-esteem, create problem solvers, and independent thinkers. Furthermore, effective teachers give students they tools that they need to be productive, keep an open mind about instructional practices, and work with students to help them create their own path to success.
