These materials will provide a living space for Dewey, our baby bearded dragon. I used to be so scared of reptiles until I was given the opportunity, in a safe setting, to explore and learn about them. Students in urban cities get very little interaction with wildlife, so I want to bring wildlife to them! Dewey will serve as a concrete visual in learning about food webs, life cycles, climate, and much more. He will also teach the students about respect for other creatures and the responsibilities that go along with keeping an animal alive. It will also dispose of fears related to reptiles as students get to know him and coexist in the same room as Dewey!
