To accommodate the different learning styles and needs of my diverse students, I need to incorporate flexibility into my classroom. I am creating flexible learning spaces. Every child has individual needs for success. For the students who need their own structured space, I'll have desktop privacy partitions. This way they can have their own space in a classroom full of children. For students who need a more fluid space to learn, I will have an area where lap desks with bean bag chairs are an option. This will be a "get-away" area to do individual work or group projects. These new additions to my classroom will create individual spaces. Students will be able to retreat to areas where they can comfortably complete tasks and be successful.
