My students are very eager to have a classroom pet. We have been busy learning and researching to prepare for our new friend! Our tortoise will need a sustainable environment to live in. The tortoise house, moss, and Eco Earth substrate will give it a place to live comfortably. The Spot Light will give it the necessary UVB rays to stay healthy and have strong bones. Tortoises are cold blooded and cannot regulate their body temperature so the Nightlight bulbs will keep their temperature where it is needed. The Thermometer and Humidity Gauge will help my students make sure our tortoise is comfortable. With these supplies, the class will be able to successfully take care of it. This opportunity will help my students learn about responsibility and will teach them respect for life, compassion beyond themselves, and provide real world learning experiences. Having a classroom pet will enhance my students' learning in a fun way and will create wonderful memories for many years to come. We are very excited and grateful for your help!
