The products that I have selected will ensure that my students are ready to come back to school and be as productive as possible, right away. Wristbands, and Dum-Dums will encourage all of the students to learn the routines and procedures of the classroom from day one, and the privacy boards and whiteboards will encourage students to stay on task by minimizing distractions and providing an interactive and engaging canvas to write on. One of the main goals that students should accomplish by the end of 4th grade will be to learn division and multiplication facts. The incentive charts will be used to "graduate" students from one set of multiplication and division facts to the next. The incentive charts will show where students are in their journey, and when they master all 12, I will take a picture of the student in a cap and gown. My goal for this year is to make sure that EVERY student has mastered their multiplication and division fluency - no matter what. In addition to this, research consistently shows that students need more and more practice in informational text. However, informational text that is readily available to most students is boring and irrelevant. If my students have access to TIME for Kids, they are more likely to be engaged and apply their literacy skills to informational text in a way that will prepare them for the more difficult texts that they will encounter in middle school, high school, and college.
