My goal is to expose my students to a wide variety of activities so that they can choose at least one to continue into adulthood and live a healthy lifestyle. Bowling is an excellent choice because it is an activity you can perform well into your 60's, 70's, and even 80's! We will be learning in class the proper bowling technique and the 4 bowling pin sets will ensure that all of my students will get plenty of practice time with a full set of pins instead of standing around in long lines having to wait their turn or playing with only a few pins. The culminating activity for our unit will be a Cosmic Bowling Experience. Your donation will help me set up the gym like a real life bowling alley with flashing LED lights, a disco ball and enough bowling pin sets to ensure every student will be receive plenty of opportunities to show off their acquired bowling skills during this Cosmic Bowling Experience. Many of our students cannot afford to go to a bowling alley to play with their family and experience a Cosmic Bowling Party so this will be a very special event for them. With this project they will not only be exposed to bowling, but they will be so excited about the Cosmic Bowling Party that they will have a positive association for the rest of their lives with being active and bowling! Now that is an excellent return on your investment!
