The popular songs we learn often feature the electric guitar. Our music department has been missing this instrument. At our Christmas Concert there were students who expressed interest in learning the guitar. I brought in a few borrowed electric guitars and the students were all over them. I also have an electric drum set that was donated. The students do like to imitate The School of Rock. I'd like to tap into this enthusiasm during music instruction. The students will be able to learn contemporary and appropriate songs using these electric guitars. Even though we have a couple acoustic guitars, they do NOT have the same musical sound as an electric guitar. Students enjoy playing popular/appropriate music and will be musically inspired with the addition of electric guitars. These Stratocasters will help my students and me reach our goal performing quality contemporary music. School of Rock, here we come!
