These materials will dramatically allow students to achieve our school's vision of creating "a space where children become leaders, prepared for a Twenty-First Century we cannot even imagine." Students will be able to not only advance in mathematics but with stations these resources will allow students to grow when seeing the connections math can have to real life situations specifically through the Arts and the Hawaiian Culture. Students will be able to express their learning through teaching their peers, creating visual demonstrations of their understanding, presenting their findings, and recording data so that they are able to calculate the results. Specifically, fraction tiles will help my students grasp the concept of parts and wholes. They will be able to graph with a larger whiteboard so they can visually see the problem that has a grid on it. Additionally the storage crates will assist my students in getting organized with their work has a home in the room. These materials will allow a stronger understanding and joy for mathematics.
