In my classroom, all of my fourth grade students are of Native American (Navajo) heritage. With that in mind, I feel that it is necessary to encourage the students to seek, and maintain cultural values, and appreciation for being of Native descent. Knowing that our indigenous Native children are at a higher risk of a variety of issues, it is important to address self-identity, and appreciation of our history.

About my class
