Community in our classroom is the most important way to enhance learning throughout the entire day. Part of the way we build our community is through our daily morning meetings. I want to combine our love of literature with character education. The books that I am requesting will allow us to start every day with literature filling the classroom. More importantly, it will allow the students to learn about ways to improve our character, discuss with others the lessons we learned through the books, and share with the entire class ways we can use the lessons to become better people. The books requested will teach students about taking responsibility, perseverance, and empathy for everyone.
