My class needs 3 more sewing machines. Students learn to sew basic seams and join fabric for garment construction. They will explore patterns and how to use them to construct clothing items. It is important for every student to have an individual machine to use in class. Recently a student needed a warmer jacket and for his class project, he made his own hoodie. The skills he learned will allow him to create or mend his garments for a lifetime. Another student recently created a baby quilt for the child she was expecting. The project was fun and she was able to create a keepsake for her baby and a memory she will have for a lifetime.
