Students can work collaboratively and independently on reading, writing, and math activities. We us guided math and reading groups in our classroom. The iPad would allow the use of technology as a rotation within my groups. Students can work on problem solving, math games, and brain work in math. This donation will help students to work together and learn how to be kind and tolerant of others. Many of the stories we read help students learn about other cultures and classrooms around the world. We study communities, holidays, and how to be good citizens. Students will use the iPad to work with partners and create their own books and videos in response to our reading. This is great for instant feedback. This process can be difficult with many students in a class and not enough technology to use as a station. Although we have a computer lab, it is frequently unavailable due to testing sessions. By having iPads for daily use, I know my students will be able to show their learning progress. This will also allow students to work more independently while staying engaged. There are many great reading apps that allow students to read fiction and nonfiction books that are the perfect reading level for each individual student. The possibilities are endless!
