An alternative school is an educational setting designed to accommodate educational, behavioral, and/or medical needs of children and adolescents that cannot be adequately addressed in a traditional school environment. These needs are met using various educational approaches. Our school uses an online learning program designed to drive student achievement for academic and career success. Embedded within the program are lectures, activities, and discussions with audio so it is necessary for each student to have headphones in order to process the information they are receiving and apply it to the activity. They can control the volume and use the headphones to block out other noises. This will enhance the environment not only in the classroom, but allow each student to stay focused on their lessons.
