By third grade these students are expected to write a multi paragraph essay in a state test, yet they are very unfamiliar with typing. Integrating technology at the younger grades will not only allow they to become more confident with a keyboard, but it will help enhance their learning at the same time. My students are very curious, and having a set of laptops readily available to them will help them engage that curiosity. Many of my students come from low income families and do not have the luxury of having a laptop or iPad at home. By funding this project you will be be opening up a new world for those students.
