When walking into my second-grade classroom, you would notice a welcoming environment with students who are encouraged to take risks and embrace failure as a means to grow as an individual. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Several students face the challenge of learning English in addition to the already rigorous second grade curriculum. My school is labeled as a Title I School, which means most of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Despite these challenges, my students show an unrivaled sense of enthusiasm for learning.
