My students need an iPad to use during speech and language therapy. I work with many students who are nonverbal. However, this does not mean that they are not able to communicate. With the use of technology, students are able to use pictures and devices to communicate with staff and peers. With use of an iPad, students can use an app called Proloquo2go, which is a symbol-supported program that is used to promote language development and grow communication skills. With an iPad, students can use this program to touch pictures and symbols to communicate. Students will be able to progress from single words, to phrases, and eventually using whole sentences to communicate. This app is an amazing resource, but we desperately need an iPad to use!
