The goal of my project is to provide flexible seating to give my student a comfortable learning environment. This is geared towards academic achievement. I have grown to learn that students appreciate a classroom space that is comfortable and inviting. My students are third through fifth grade, and they love being able to sit in their private area for their learning. Students are more comfortable and engaged with their reading and writing assignments when flexible seating is available. It will allow them to be focused and engaged with their work. For instance, when I host my "small group" activity to engage students in reading, I can circulate the classroom, and my students do not have to move. They will stay at their comfy desk. Students feel empowered when they have choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom.
