Many of my students have never had an opportunity to learn a musical instrument. My music room has enough keyboards for every student to have their own to use, but most of then need batteries; purchasing batteries all the time is becoming expensive. They get frustrated when their batteries die and I don't have any extras around to replace right away, so they have to share keyboards with a classmates. This also takes away from their valuable practice time as they have to compromise with another student in order to get practice in. Our keyboards also have stands, and many of them are beginning to fall apart. This is making it easier for keyboards to be accidentally knocked off the stand and broken when students are moving around the room. New stands would help keep our limited amount of keyboards from breaking.
