Every year I do a unit on playing the piano using 20 Yamaha keyboards that my students and I are fortunate to have. My students always look forward to playing the keyboards. Our current headphones are very old--so old that the foam has fallen off and they are painful to wear. Many of my students choose to hold the headphones close to one ear to avoid putting it on and hurting themselves. Others will simply practice without listening to what they are playing. Obviously, this is not an ideal situation. With these new headphones, my students will be able to practice playing the piano for longer lengths of time, which will improve their ability on the instrument.
