Providing my students with quality text about thinking, creating, and imagining, will allow them to take their ideas further! Having picture books that align with STEM concepts will engage the students in not only connecting to the characters in the story, but allow them to see how STEM can even be something present in reading as well! By creating a library for all students Pre-K through 5th, with STEM based literacy teachers will have a greater opportunity to promote this type of learning in their classrooms easily and with out a lot of prep or planning. So many of the texts selected easily align to science, math, and technology standards and numerous activities that will promote student learning and growth across the content areas.
