These cameras will enable my students to learn about the fascinating and extremely creative world of Photography. In their neighborhood, the ability to tell stories through digital representation can lend a voice to someone that may struggle with speaking about their situation. I want to teach these students that there are ways of telling their stories and seeing their world other than just writing or drawing or speaking. For some, that is a difficult task. So with photography, they can have another voice and outlet for what may be inside of them. Just like with any visual art, it takes giving them the opportunity to explore and express in order to find what lets loose their voice.
