I am requesting 2 iPad minis to be used everyday in our first grade classroom. Right now, due to lack of technology, our whole class has to travel to the computer lab at an assigned time to have access to technology. With the iPads, students will have access right in their own classroom to blog or even look up something they are wondering about, right away without waiting for our computer lab day. Every first grader in my classroom has a blog and these iPad minis will allow them to blog about their learning at any time throughout the day. The students also use an app to reflect on their learning as well as share their learning with their parents. Right now, they have to wait a long time to be able to upload anything to their portfolio. However, with these new iPads, more students can upload and evaluate their learning each day. There are also many apps that allow students to create stories using characters. These 2 iPads will allow the students to use the app to create their own story or reenact a favorite part of a book they read.
