The Kindle Fire Tablets and charging stations have made a difference in my students' learning because these items have allowed and will continue to allow my students to gain access to the internet. My students did not have access to the internet on a regular basis. My students excel when given the opportunity to learn through Project Based Learning and the use of technology. Students learning through Project Based Learning retain content longer and have a deeper understanding of what they are learning. (Penuel & Means, 2000; Stepien, Gallagher & Workman, 1993) The majority of my students are hands-on, visual learners and these tablets have allowed them to be exposed to internet through Project Based Learning and the use of technology. Now, we are looking to protect and preserve these tablets with cases and screen protectors.
