I have requested this abundance of items to make my reading center look outstanding. The students already like this area but the items I have chosen will make them LOVE this reading center and really help them become lifelong readers. I want to provide them with an exciting area to read in that is well organized and comfortable. They will have access to well organized books, a new exciting carpet, lap desks to complete any assignments during reading and writer's workshop, as well as flexible seating options. The carpet lists genres which will also serve as an educational tool for students. The bookshelves will help organize the abundance of books we have so that they are easier to access and not spilling out of the carts. I hope to use the lap desks during guided reading when students sometimes have to write in their reading journals.
