Sewing is an important skill to know for all ages and middle school students are the perfect age to begin learning. Sewing is a creative expression and improves hand-eye coordination. Students in sewing club are excited to learn how to sew so they can create fun projects for themselves and for charity organizations. They would like to learn basic machine sewing skills as well further their hand sewing skills. Cutting mats, rotary cutters, and measuring tools will assist them in creating projects. They will use these supplies to create pillowcases, bags, quilts, and simple items of clothing. Having sewing machines, cutting supplies, and ironing supplies will help them to achieve their creative goals. We also want to create items for charities such as quilts, pillowcases, and reusable shopping bags. The charities are chosen by the students. Their willingness to create and give back to their community fosters civic responsibility and empathy for others. The supplies purchased with your donations will allow my students to nurture their creativity as well as their selfless growth as an active member of our community.
