A set of world drums for our elementary music class will greatly benefit our students. Early music education has been shown to improve both reading and writing. Our school strives for academic excellence, as well as providing opportunities for children to express themselves through the arts. I am hoping for a variety of percussion instruments from around the world, such as West African Djembes and Middle Eastern Doumbeks. Exposing our students to instruments from around the world will help broaden their world perspectives, and give them a greater appreciation for other cultures. About my class
