If my project is funded, I plan to redesign my entire classroom library. Currently, our classroom library consists of black metal shelving that is not very attractive and is functionally difficult to use and keep organized. My hope is that an aesthetically pleasing and functioning storage cabinets will allow my students easier access to finding the books they want to read as well as making it a comfortable place to read. My hope for all of my students this year is to provide an environment that will allow them to "fall in love" with reading. While this might come easy to some of us that have access to nice libraries, bookstores, and possibly our own home library, my students do not have those same opportunities. Providing a comfortable and inviting space in the classroom might be just the thing to get them to "fall in love" with a great story.
